Eliza Howells (she/her) is a Boston-based vocalist and composer, and she is so excited to be teaching at Onset School of Music! While growing up on the North Shore, Eliza developed a passion for music in a variety of genres including acapella, musical theater, pop, and classical. She ultimately received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Composition from UMass Amherst, where she served as Music Director for UMass’ all-treble acapella group, S#arp Attitude, President of the UMass Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, and performed the role of Sally in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. She has been grateful to spend the last two summers traveling to Italy to sing with the Sarteano Choral Conducting Workshop and perform the role of Dritter Knabe in the Trentino Music Festival production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Most recently, she appeared as the featured vocalist and composer for the Voices Unheard Ensemble in Hopkinton, MA.
After teaching private voice lessons virtually in 2020, Eliza is so excited to be a part of the Onset community! Her teaching covers a variety of genres and places an emphasis on nurturing singers’ inner confidence and musical passions. When she is not teaching, Eliza is pursuing an MA in Music Composition at Tufts University. She also enjoys performing and recording her own original music which can be found on major streaming platforms!
